Do you know how to wait well?
Waiting on GOD can be one of the hardest things to do, especially when it feels like nothing is happening! You've heard HIS voice, you've stepped out in faith, but you still dont see the results. It's in this space between what GOD has promised and what hasn't yet come to pass that we learn what it means to wait well. Waiting well isn't about doing nothing- it's about being still in spirit while continuing to move in obedience to what GOD has spoken. Psalm 46:10 reminds us, "Be still, and know that I am GOD." This isn't a call to do nothing but a call to trust deeply, even when the waters seem murky and the path unclear.
Let me share a story about waiting well:
Years ago, I felt GOD calling me to step into a new season of purpose. HE gave me a vision so vivid it felt like it would happen immediately. Full of excitement, I began moving on what HE said: praying, preparing, and putting plans in place. But as time passed, doubt started creeping in. Months turned into years, and I didn’t see the fulfillment of what God had shown me. I wanted to give up. But in that season, GOD taught me a powerful lesson: HIS timing is perfect, and my faith needed to grow to match the vision HE had for me. I realized that waiting well wasn’t about sitting back in frustration but about actively trusting HIM through prayer, preparation, and small steps of obedience.
Doors are opening now but the full vision hasn’t come into fruition yet. I realize the delay isnt a denial but it's GOD preparing me for what is ahead.
If you’re in a season of waiting, remember these three truths:
GOD is working even when you don’t see it. “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14). Trust that GOD is moving behind the scenes.Faith without works is dead, but works without faith lead to striving. “In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper” (Ecclesiastes 11:6). Keep taking small steps of faith, trusting that GOD will honor your obedience. His promises will never fail. “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you” (2 Peter 3:9). What HE has spoken will come to pass in His time.
How to Wait Well:
Pray Continuously: Use this time to deepen your relationship with GODPrepare Faithfully: Ask yourself, “What can I do to be ready when GOD opens the door?”Praise Him in Advance: Worship HIM as if the promise has already come to pass.
Remember, waiting isn’t wasted when you’re waiting on GOD. Keep stepping into the unknown waters, even when the waves feel overwhelming, knowing that HE will guide you to the other side.
What small act of obedience can you take today while waiting on GOD’s promise?
Encouraging Scripture to Meditate On:
“But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
You are not alone in your waiting season. GOD’s timing is never late, and His plans for you are good. Hold onto hope and trust that HE is working all things for your good and His glory.
“Be still, and know that HE is GOD.” HE is faithful to fulfill what HE has promised. Keep trusting, keep moving, and keep waiting well.
Waiting on GOD can be one of the hardest things to do, especially when nothing seems to be happening. But waiting well isn’t about doing nothing but it’s about being still in spirit while continuing to move in obedience to what GOD has spoken.
